Remarks & Notes |
Former Kennecot Nevada Mines Alco RS3 was built in 1950 to serve originally at the Ray Mines in Arizona and was transferred to Nevada in 1970. She hauled ore from the mines above Ruth to McGill and back for nearly a decade until the mines shut down and then worked the smelter until it finally closed. Yet, two and a half decades after those events she still runs on her old home rails....wow! She is seen framed by the Chief Engineer's Office, itself a former depot salvaged from along the line and repositioned here way back in 1908 |
