| As the day's first light caressed the peaks of Temple and Crosby Mountains, Q-STPTAC1-25K was running for its life as it eagerly approached a Clear indication at West Skykomish. Just minutes ago, the dispatcher had called up the eastbound holding at Skykomish for this meet to gave them the news that "the original thought was to meet one at Sky and go to Scenic for Amtrak, but #7 is going to eat this westbound alive so you'll be there for two." One could almost imagine the sound of the train's wheels clattering over a joint to be clapping coconuts: "Run away! Run away!" |
