The darkness temporarily succumbs to light, as a locomotive's headlight paints the right-of-way and adjacent hills, while the ETD brings up the rear with its signature flashing red light. The scene was made possible by a southbound intermodal, as it worked upgrade past the north switch at Bealville, shortly after nightfall.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
