Remarks & Notes |
Anatomy of a Meet, Part 1: This is how to run a double-track railroad. The head ends of eastbound S-SEPLPC1-23K and westbound M-SPOPAS1-23A are three miles apart in this view of Providence Hill on BNSF's Lakeside Subdivision; two miles behind the manifest's power is the end of 2MT at Sand. The second main track here is barely a decade old but continues to justify its construction by allowing trains to meet each other at track speed. |
