| The Soo Line seemed to be plagued with more or less annual motive power shortages. This was handled by leasing what was available in the 70's and 80's. Early on it was mostly F's from NP and GN, and DMIR SD9's that were not needed to haul ore in the winter. Later LS&I U-boats were used and then as the 70's drew to a close, CR power was used, first U-boats and then SD40-2's. In this shot CR SD40-2 6410 heads an X-west out of Trout Lake. |
