Train 395 is put into emergency and grinds to a halt after striking a young teen walking along the tracks by 20th Street in Battle Creek. Here police, Fire and Rescue workers work to comfort the child and prepare him for transport to the local hospital. By some miracle for all concerned, the teen has escaped with cuts, bangs and bruises but seams to be alright. The incident has closed down the the South Bend Sub at mile post 174 but luckily for Amtrak passengers the tail of 395 has cleared CN GORD and despite having to throw the main line switches by hand, they are able to stay on schedule.
