Remarks & Notes |
U92 soars over the massive trestle near Oak Hill, WV. One advantage the Virginian had over the B&O and C&O being that it was a late comer to railroad construction in the 19th century, is that it was able to take advantage of better bridge technology of the day. This allowed the railroad in many cases to follow the ridges of hills, instead of looking for a route that was dictated by a stream. |
