This is California's delta country ... Southern Pacific GP9R 3784 brings its train across the drawbridge spanning the slough at Mossdale, California, as it makes its way from Tracy to Stockton. The 3784, one of many SP and Santa Fe units painted in anticpation of the SPSF merger (which was denied), rolled out of EMD's LaGrange, IL, plant as SP GP9 5787, later renumbered to 3628 (in 1965) before being rebuilt / upgraded as 3784 in January 1976.
