Amtrak train 300 screams through Atlanta, Illinois early Friday morning, the last day of April 2010 with a former Amtrak F40PH converted into a NPCU, or Non Powered Control Unit. The NPCU's were quickly given the moniker ''Cabbage Car''. Train 300 sports an NPCU on almost every run between St. Louis and Chicago, shown here moving at the track speed of 79miles per hour on this former stretch of the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio.
