Remarks & Notes |
A bunch of Soo Line roster rarity's are on the point off this train 911 back in 1979. The 722 was one of ten GP35's on the Soo, but was the only one riding AAR type B trucks off a retired Alco FA. The 733 was one of only four GP40's, and was the only GP to get the parallelogram logo on the long hood. And finally 2411 was one of a handful of high nose geeps that had ended up being chopped after an accident. These units are quite dirty after a long winter. Normally Soo units were much cleaner in the 70's, but the combination of freezing weather and the normal winter power shortage kept many units from being washed until well into the spring. |
