It's been a very long time since the last train of Carbon County coal departed the tipple at Clear Creek, Utah. Apparently the D&RGW had faith that one day the mine would reopen so they left the track in place. That was back in the early 1960's! In contemporary times, Mud Creek has washed away much of the right of way leaving behind little more than hopes and dreams that service will return. Since the tipple was torn down in the 1980's with the land being reclaimed, the upper three miles of the Pleasant Valley Branch will likely never feel the rumble of a passing train again.
