Remarks & Notes 
A loaded BNSF coal train climbs Fryburg hill out of the badlands on the Glendive Mandan section. Manned pushers are visible on the rear of the train. Northern Pacific's 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone class steam engines were built for this section, not for the mountain passes further west.
