After the trial runs of July 1986, the General Mitre Railroad instituted the haulage of container cars in the consist of passenger trains between Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Tucumán. Trains number 217 and 218 were selected in the Córdoba route, and from then on containers appeared in the head end of those services. ALCo. RSD16 #8238 was about to leave Cañada de Gomez with a healthy load of (empty)containers ahead of the passenger consist, which included brown-colored official coach S.O.605 with a supervisors team in an inspection trip to the Province of Córdoba.
