The November 12, 1983 Suwanee Steam Special ran from Southern Railway's Simpson Yard in Jacksonville, Fl to Valdosta, Ga, a distance of 106.5 miles each way. Savannah & Atlanta 4-6-2 750 powered the trip, assisted by several Southern Railway F units. S&A 750 was built by Alco in 1910 for the Florida East Coast Railroad and was sold to the Savannah & Atlanta railroad in 1934.
