Remarks & Notes |
A frigid Friday afternoon yielded some great weather and some great railroading on VTR and Pan Am in western New England and the eastern edge of New York. After interchanging with the Pan Am at Hoosick Jct. the VTR turn crosses the Walloomsac River on its way back to North Bennington and ultimately Rutland. It sure is nice to see this line active and the interchange open again after so many years of being moribund. The bucolic scenery and ease of chasing make this route a fan favorite. The sparkling geep on the point was built in 1971 as B&O 4017 while the cruddy Dash-2 trailing is of obvious CN heritage. |
