Portrait of a Railroader. Conductor Steve Culver is the defacto King of the Alaska Railroad's winter passenger train. A 40+ year ARR veteran he is #2 on the railroad's seniority roster and this train is his baby. He takes immense pride in showing off his home state to those hardy visitors who make the trek north during the winter months. If you've never ridden this train with Steve, you owe yourself the experience!
Here he is tuning his radio as he gets ready to high ball north after making a special stop at Denali Park for a group of winter campers.
Photo albums dedicated to the Men, and Women that keep the Railroad running around the clock 365 days a year. From Dispatcher to Track Gangs, these are the people that make the railroad moves!
A tribute of appreciation to the workers who maintain the track, keeping our railways in shape regardless of weather and danger, and keeping them running effeciently.
