NS V31 is slowing as it treads its way over the timber trestle that crosses the Blackwater River in Franklin, Va. It is about to spend some time pulling and placing cars at the massive International Paper Co. I have envisioned this shot for many, many years. But either the train was there and I wasn’t, or I was there and the train wasn’t. But on this picture perfect day in mid August, 2007 I finally get the shot that I have wanted for so long.
