Remarks & Notes |
After the WC bought up the ACR these Ex VIA F's were brought on board for passenger service to free up the ACR GP38-2's for freight work. Things didn't always work out that way and the while the F's could often be found on the passenger trains as envisioned, they also put in quite a few miles working freights on the old ACR and also on the Sault Ste. Marie-Gladstone line. This shot has a pair of the F's, 1753,1754 leading an Extra toward Sault Ste. Marie near Heyden. The units had started out of Hawk Junction with just a couple of cars but were tasked with picking up a cut of ore that had been set out the previous evening near Agawa Canyon when the ore loads had developed power trouble. |
