Remarks & Notes |
MN&S 40 and Soo 4448 team up on train 910 as it pulls around the wye at Trout Lake to clear the Gladstone-Sault Ste. Marie line so a waiting train 909 can head west. Soo used to have many meets at Trout Lake during the 1970-85 time period. It was the only place between Gladstone and Sault Ste. Marie where a train over 4200 feet could fit with out breaking the train in pieces. This did require pulling around the wye and heading down the ex DSS&A main toward St. Ignace, but with the woeful lack of traffic using the St. Ignace line to the carferry Chief Wawatum it never caused many delays. With cabooses on all trains, back up moves like the one required to get out of here was never much of an issue. |
