Remarks & Notes |
Long and lanky, I always felt like the C40-8's in the standard cab version looked like something Alco may have produced if they had been able to stay in the locomotive market. The coal line had quite a few single track bottlenecks back in 1990 and the dispatcher was often heard on the radio telling a train that was stopped in a siding or at the end of a double track segment to "give me a call after four go past you". Most crews seemed to keep a good supply of newspapers and magazines for just these moments. |
