Remarks & Notes |
UP 5703 is assisted by 3 more AC units as they bring this long and heavy Valmy coal train up Silver Zone Pass and around Arnold's Loop. UP 7190 is the second unit and UP 5262 and 6231 are shoving on the rear in DPU mode. The location is the Union Pacific Shafter Sub in eastern Nevada. Their destination is the North Valmy Generating Station, a 522 MW plant west of Battle Mountain, Nevada. 10,720' Pilot Peak dominates the eastern skyline. The Nevada/Utah state line is just beyond the summit of Pilot Peak and east of there it's salt flats as far as the eye can see. |
