Remarks & Notes
Since 1891 the Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog Railway has been taking visitors to the summit of 14,110 feet Pikes Peak. Manitou & Pikes Peak 0-4-2T No 3 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1890 as a four-cylinder Vauclain compound locomotive. She has 10" x 22" and 25" x 22" cylinders, weighs 52,680 lbs. and has 22.5" drivers. She was retired in 1958. This George Pettengill image from my collection was taken along the steep run up Pikes Peak.
