On August 31, with an invite to ride along and explore a 6-mile stretch of trackage not reachable by roadways (as they were completely washed away), a hi-rail trip revealed some serious damage. At West Braintree, some 2,500 feet of 20-30' high embankment had been washed away, leaving the new ARRA/HSR rail hanging or pulled into the Third Branch White River.
