Union Pacific's Geneva to Comstock ore empty climbs westward through the Beer Creek sag on the approach to Payson, Utah. On the point are a pair of GE locomotives including a 1980 blt. C30-7 and a relatively new GECX Super7-23B. A cut of grain loads are behind the power, scheduled to be set out for Moroni Feed at Nephi. The black ore jennies will be loaded at Comstock on the Iron Mountain Branch west of Cedar City, Utah. By 1991, catching a C30-7 leading a UP train on the mainline was becoming rare.
