Remarks & Notes
It's rare enough to see a Garratt steam loco at work these days, but to see one trundling down the street is even rarer. A scene on the Welsh Highland Railway at Porthmadog. Ex-SAR NGG16 Class Garrat arrives at Porthmadog from Caernarvon on the Welsh Highland Railway. The loco was the last Garratt locomotive built by Beyer, Peacock and Company in Manchester in 1958. It was built for the South African Railways and is the largest 2'0" gauge loco type in the World.
