Remarks & Notes
The Eastbound Cardinal heads into the old Manns Tunnel. Opened in the mid 1870's as a single track rock tunnel, it was expanded in 1904 for double track, and reverted back to single track in 1932 when the new Manns Tunnel was opened. At 982 feet long, the tunnel boasts the lowest vertical clearance of any tunnel in use on the old C&O mainline.
