| The Paynesville Sub wayfreight often has a student conductor along for either route familiarization or to learn under the tutelage of this veteran crew. On a sunny spring morning, the engineer keeps a close watch on one such student as he alights from a Soo Line GP38-2 to line a switch as they sort some cars on the sidings in Brooten. Several cars of their train are visible in the distance on the main line. |
