Remarks & Notes
Work nears completion on the first of two bridges to be replaced on P&L's "Muldraugh Hill" between West Point and Fort Knox. Before construction began a forested hillside sloped down to the edge of the track, which was cut and blasted to accommodate the future main track and new bridge, at right. Today we find work train MWL parked south of the old trestle after unloading three of four side-dump cars at the job site. Check out photo ID 333669 for a look at this location before construction began. While the trestle and its replacement may appear small in this image, the older shot demonstrates their actual size.
