A Southeastern Class 466 plies the Sheerness branch, one sunny Sunday morning, passing the boatyard on the Whitstable side of the crossing. Due to delays caused by operating the bridge, an expensive alternative was built, though as the bridge only opens once an hour, outside busy times many motorists prefer to use the old bridge instead.
