Harper's Ferry, WV 10/26/2012 - On a misty fall morning, westbound local D-787 has three light GPs on the Cumberland Subdivision mainline heading for interchange with the Winchester & Western Railroad in Martinsburg, WV. The trio of second generation EMDs will return to Brunswick yard--just east of this location--in a few hours with about a dozen loaded cement cars. In the foreground, the former B&O mainline, now the Shenandoah Subdivision branchline to Winchester, VA, shares the through-truss bridge with a public pedestrian footpath.
