An old barn shows its age as this Trenton, ND to Galveston, TX oil load rolls westward down the "highline" between Merrick and Ellinor. Officially known as Main 3, this section of track was built after the floods of 1951 as a barrier between the Cottonwood River and the Santa Fe, now BNSF, mainline.
