12-12-12, the last triple header for 89 years. An empty WB 106 car grain train with BNSF run thru power rolls by NYS Barge Canal Lock 10 on the Mohawk River just east of Amsterdam. This Lock area was destroyed last year by the remnants of Hurricanes Irene and Lee and is slowly being rebuilt. The foreground was previously a grass field. BNSF 4301 and 4604 trail. Since its another 89 years before the next triple date combo I decided it would a good idea to record a train on 12-12-12. With only 9 hours of sun, lots of December clouds, and only a lunch hour to work with, I headed for the busy Mohawk Sub and got lucky with some sun and foreign power. I do not think I'll be taking train pictures on 1-1-2101 unless there are some big advances in science.
