Remarks & Notes |
Former Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) steamlocomotive 41 018 (2-8-2), built by Henschel/Kassel in 1939 for the Deutsche Reichsbahn, is owned and operated today by Dampflokgesellschaft München e.V. and based in Augsburg. The heavy fuel oil fired "Mikado" is tackling the grade of 2.6 % up the old Hauenstein line from Olten to Läufelfingen and finally Sissach. Train load is about 330 ton, so a banker in form of electric railcar RBe 540 205 of the Oensingen-Balsthal Bahn is needed for security reason (Hauenstein tunnel is 2495 meter long). Several photographer and videographer are viewing the impressive spectacle. |
