| On a gorgeous spring afternoon, a colorful quartet of BNSF road power brings in another shiny line of new tanks out of the Dakotas loaded with Bakken Crude for the Port of Albany. The handsome BNSF ACE units are a favorite of mine and catching one on point into the Capital Region was always tough with timing. This period of late April to early May for about two weeks the northeast enjoyed an unusual and spectacular stretch of 'perfect' sunny and crisp weather for railfanning. I remember this particular day would be the sad end of that rare stretch. |
