Vermont Rail System has a contract to load four Herzog GPS ballast trains for Canadian Pacific Railway at Burlington, Vermont, with the CP power (a trio of SD40-2s) typically running through to Burlington and back. On Saturday, June 15, the combined CP ballast train and VRS Burlington to Rutland, Vermont freight train, symbol BDRD, is seen passing the Proctor General Store and Vermont Marble Museum at Proctor with CP SD40-2 6069, DME SD40-3 6083, CP SD40-2 5727, GMRC GP40 304, VTR GP38-3 206 and VTR GP38-2 201...that's six units and six different paint schemes.
Crazy pool power consists, colorful gatherings of locomotives at a diesel service area, or a mixture of colorful locomotives in storage lines. A minimum of four different paint schemes required.
An attempt to put the best picture of engines that represent each of America's railroads. When a better picture of an engine/type is found, it will be added.
