Remarks & Notes |
ARR 4319 leads the northbound Coastal Classic past the marsh waters just south of Portage on a calendar-perfect evening. This area was devastated during the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake which was the second largest earthquake ever recorded. The event was so significant that the land actually dropped 6-10' once the shaking stopped leading to the marshes and petrified forests that make up this part of south central Alaska.
