| A late-running 451 is seen about to cross Domtar Road at Martins. Less than 10 miles up the line this train would have an unscheduled meet with the broadside of a pickup truck. The truck ended up totaled but fortunately the driver only suffered minor injuries. Not a good day for the driver, word is that he'd just gone into work to learn he'd been laid off. He then drove the half mile or so down the road to the trailer park where he'd been staying, loaded up his stuff into the truck and informed the park owner he'd be back later for his trailer. He was struck by the train as he exited the park by way of its private crossing. Kind of have to feel bad for the guy, even if he did drive right in front of a train. The train crew acted professionally in seeing to his needs while waiting for EMS to arrive. |
