Haulin' the mail and a lot of other things, the former Lancaster & Chester Consolidation #40 charges southbound across Mill Creek toward Rushland with heavy mixed consist including tanks, hoppers, gons and a couple of passenger cars. On this day in May of 2013, the 40 was painted in the livery of her native line in South Carolina for a special Lerro Productions Photo Charter. The morning weather forecast was for mostly sunny skies this day (no kidding!) and by 10 AM....you guessed it....it was raining. On this particular day, the science of weather forecasting appeared to be no better than it was back in the day when the 40 was doing this for real.
