Remarks & Notes
On May 11, 1974, U23Cs 7512 and 7506 wiggle through curves above Bayard, New Mexico, on the Santa Rita District with copper ore for the crusher and smelter at Hurley. The train is crossing Whitewater Creek and will soon pass through Bayard, 4.6 miles north of Hurley. These shuttle trains stopped running in the mid-1980s and the smetler at Hurley has since been dismantled. This location is in the southwestern corner of New Mexico.
