Two days after the P&L's 10/29/12 derailment at West Point, KY, a detour train passes through Central Avenue on its way into Osborn Yard. The ill fated detour was intended to run via the CSX "Texas Line" (which also passes through West Point) to Evansville, IN and down to Madisonville, KY where it would return to P&L rails, but an explosion at the derailment site would result in a shutdown of the Texas. The train was returned to the P&L in Louisville and another attempt would be made the following day, this time via NS and CN over a Louisville-Centralia-Paducah routing.
