Remarks & Notes |
The Xingyang Brickworks Railway was an anachronism in a country known for railway anachronisms. Built int he 1970's the railway's sole purpose was to haul clay from a quarry to a large brickworks. The railway was only 7km long, by 76cm wide, and only used one C2 locomotive, but its charm lay in its handmade infrastructure. By 2011 time had finally come for the railway and its tiny 0-8-0 locomotives. Nowadays, the brickworks and railway are long gone and this beautiful arch bridge is only used by villagers commuting to town. |
