Remarks & Notes |
All three components that have made up the modern Genesee & Wyoming-owned New England Central Railroad are represented in this one image. The NECR Roxbury Subdivision - for which the NECR train 323 is seen operating on - was the Central Vermont mainline prior to the 1995 acquisition by New England Central Railroad. NECR would flourish under RailTex and later RailAmerica, before becoming a member of the GWI family. NECR SD40T-2 3317 (GWI paint) and NECR GP38 3851 (Classic NECR blue/gold) are seen crossing the White River bridge in Sharon, VT, which still proudly displays "CENTRAL VERMONT - Green Mountain Route" |
