The Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railroad's Dixiana Shay No. 1 was built in 1912 by the Lima Locomotive Works and acquired by the railroad in 1962 from the Coal Processing Co. of Dixiana, Virginia. The engine went into service for the RC&BTRR railroad when it opened in 1963.
