Even though the newly formed Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern has been in existence for a few months, the local out of Brookings appears to be on somewhat of a same schedule as when the CP owned the line.
On a beautiful Sunday morning, the Brookings Local has just finished working the soybean plant in Volga, SD, and heads east to Aurora, SD to work the small yard there before returning to Brookings. A newly painted geep glistens in the sun, but before long, clouds would move in and rain showers would form.
