The American Association of Private Rail Car Owners (AAPRCO) special, operating as Amtrak 854, is seen exiting the east portal of Hoosac Tunnel around 18:40 hrs on Saturday, September 20, 2014. The east portal is heavily shadowed after mid-day, so supplemental lighting was accomplished with a quartet of Alien Bees B1600 flash units. The crew was aware of the pending flash well in advance - notice the sunglasses - there was no sun ;-)
The Chattanooga Limited was a special train of privately owned railroad cars that are part of the American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners (AAPRCO). The train was in conjunction with the annual convention in 2014.
