In the final weeks before the UP-SP merger, my buddies and I were on Soldier Summit every weekend. We caught up with this nifty Roseville to Kansas City manifest approaching Kyune on a hazy August 31, 1996 evening. The power includes DRGW 5395, DRGW 5401, WC 6523, WC 6600, and IC 6128 pulling 80 cars. At this point, the big merger was 11 days out.
