A sporty ride. The reflections of the impending sunrise are already visible in the windows of Caboose #3 as the crew of a Sumpter Valley freight protects the rear of their train while it backs to the water tower to top off before heading west to Prairie City. With the temperature hovering in the single digits, the ride on the back platform of Caboose #3 is almost painfully chilly, and the crew are very much looking forward to getting underway, so they can enjoy the heat from the coal stove, just a few feet behind them.
