Remarks & Notes |
A photograph which is no longer possible to repeat. Pudding Mill Lane station on the Docklands Light Railway used to offer good views of the adjacent Great Eastern mainline. However, in 2014 a much larger station was opened directly opposite which replaced the existing small island platform in order to make way for one of the tunnel portals for Crossrail. Taken from the platform of the old Pudding Mill Lane station one day before closure, Class 90 no.90009 'Diamond Jubilee' speeds passed with an express from Norwich to London Liverpool Street. 90009 carries the name 'Diamond Jubilee', the Union flag and white cab roofs to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee in 2012. In the background the 'Orbit' can also be seen, constructed for the London 2012 Olympic Games. |
