| Ab 663 was retired by NZR in 1969 and purchased by Mainline Steam in 1983 who returned it to the mainline standard in 1997. The train is climbing to Westmere on a trip to Kai Iwi as part of a Vintage Weekend held in Wanganui. Westmere Bank is approx 3% with severe curves, the most challenging grade in the North Island. |
