Remarks & Notes |
Utah Transit Authority's RP39-2C No. 901, nicknamed 'Snowflake' is parked in Union Pacific's Fourth South Yard in downtown Salt Lake City. It was built an EMD GP40 in 1967 as the L&N 3025. In 1991 it was rebuilt for commuter service on Virginia Railway Express changing the as-built 16 cylinder engine for a 12 cylinder with the addition of Head End Power. Its current assignment is to switch industries landlocked on the east side of UTA's FrontRunner commuter rail line utilizing Union Pacific crews. |
